Exams are over! Well I don't feel much sense of liberation, but I have been enjoying the free time I have now. The day after exams I had to help my sis shift her things, then we treated ourselves to a nice meal at Cedele, went shopping, then met our aunt & cousin for a pre-birthday dinner for my cousin since her birthday is this Thursday and both of us won't be in Singapore then. Dinner was kinda disappointing though! The online reviews I read failed me. :(

I just bummed around on Saturday, watching more tv, sleeping, running, talking with friends.. And somehow the day just zoomed pass. But Sunday! Sunday was what I stayed back in Singapore for! The day that I was going to meet up with Taina! And the rest of the girls too of course, but the important guest that day was Taina. ;)

So she's finally here from Finland and touched down at Changi on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we had tea together, and then dinner, and just hung out till we were tired and had to go back. We introduced her to green tea during tea & zi char during dinner. Hopefully it wasn't too much of a food shock to her lol. Shawn & Lorraine left after dinner and the rest of us walked to the new mall opposite Bugis Junction and sat down at berrylite to continue chatting. berrylite reminds me of the céfiore yogurt we ate almost every day in Hollywood.. Yum.

Oh and I'm at home now. For a week! Yay! Just came back today with my sister. She had a crazy amount of luggages in hand. We had brunch again at Cedele hehe. The bus journey was looong. And at night we hit the pasar malam with my mom & youngest sis! Pigged out a lot on all my favourites.. Since I'm only here till Sunday morning, I might as well just eat everything that I want to as I won't have another chance till.. I don't know when will be the next time I come home again.

Oh and remember I complained about people always spelling my name wrongly? It happened again! ARGH. So irritating. I filed for my US tax return about 1.5 months ago and my cheque has arrived. Yay, right? But nooo, the Department of the Treasury spelt my name as Pui Lee! Grr!! Now I have to send the cheque back and hopefully there won't be any problems with reissuing another cheque to me. I want my money back. :(

I got my Twiggies, thanks to Wenz! And also, we satiated our bacon cravings this morning when we cooked breakfast. We also had sausages, scrambled eggs (we forgot to mix it with milk though so I guess it wasn't really scrambled eggs? :X) and French toast. Ms Tan Yu Wen, if you were here we would have shared breakfast with you. Who ask you to go back so early! :P

And on top of that, I got another parcel in the mail today! Hehe this time it's chocolates - very good comfort food for what lies ahead. Such a sweet surprise. (:

With so many good things happening just before my final two papers tomorrow, this should be a good sign for my exams right? I hope our prof will show us some mercy for tomorrow's Multivariate Analysis paper! *keeps fingers crossed*

Alrighty, gotta keep the post short cos I have found my mojo to study!

I'm a sucker for desserts, especially when it comes to baking them. I'm also a fan of anything cupcake related. E.g., I bought this cupcake stand from US last summer though I don't really have a use for it just yet.. Tea-time party or picnic anyone?

My other form of procrastination is browsing through all these baking blogs and then I'll bookmark all the recipes that I want to try out. And the list is ever-growing because there are so many awesome recipes I want to try. I have a few folders of recipes to try, divided into different categories such as cakes, cookies, chocolate, cheese, recess week baking, etc.

The problem is, I never have enough time at home to try them all out! Even if I bake during all my waking hours at home, no one will be able to finish eating all of it. Or I think my oven/mixer would just retaliate and refuse to work anymore. I kinda miss having my oven and mixer just in the kitchen downstairs. When I got bored of studying last time, I'd whip up a batch of cupcakes and then I'd be satisfied and would happily go back to studying..

The only problem with looking at all these food blogs is that the food looks so good and it makes you perpetually hungry ALL THE TIME. Craving Gardenia's Twiggies Choc-A-Lot very badly right now.

Hmm so it'll be exciting when I can afford a Kitchen Aid and have a nice kitchen of my own. Gotta work hard for it now! 3 more days till my exams are over. (:

YW is done with her exams and has flown home! But she gave me my 'exam welfare package' before she left. Milk tea bubble tea and coffee cupcake with coffee frosting from Bakerzin. I wanted to buy the cupcakes when we were together at JP last weekend but I didn't get to. Thanks babe! Me love you long time.

I have the sweetest boyfriend in the world. Cheered me up instantly even though he is almost 10000 miles away (:

I got another postcard from Rach AGAIN! I think it was sitting in my mailbox for a few days but thankfully I checked it today! Hahaha and just in time for exams too. Aww, can't wait for my turn to go on holiday. That girl is on her Stockholm-Helsinki-Moscow-St. Petersburg-Talinn trip now and probably won't see this, but thank you babe. ♥

So, our finals are starting tomorrow! On Saturday, Yu Wen, Wen Ni and I woke up at 7am (don't gasp!) to go out to Swensens for breakfast. Hmm a lot of people thought we were crazy but hey, it helps to adjust your biological clock ok! Now I sleep by 1am and wake up by 8am. Good preparation for exams as my papers are in the morning. And we finally got to satiate our breakfast cravings. I preferred the location of the old Swensens but oh well, I got blueberry pancakes!

Time Series Analysis at 9am at SRC tomorrow. Ugh, I hate having exams there. Breakfast at 7.45am. No oversleeping this sem yeah! Jia you & thanks for the good luck wishes everyone (:

Everyone is starting to blog more again during this exam period. It's what I call procrastination from studying for exams! :P

On Thursday I had my final lesson and test for the semester with my HMS1 classmates. We all met for the first time in Week 2, then our 13 weeks of lessons passed by so quickly and then it was time to say goodbye. I think the oral test was a good ending to our lessons because everyone is just so creative and funny! Aiyoh, why am I so boring.

We seem to have done that a lot even though we didn't plan it! ISO 1600 or not, thankfully Sharon brought her DSLR so we got some pictures together! I will miss walking into class and seeing Xin Yi wear almost the same outfit as me lol. And of course, our guapa y delgada y joven y amable profesora, Arantxa.

So.. Spanish Level 2 anyone?

Received more snail mail on Tuesday, but this time from my girlfriends. A handmade card from one of my besties (the cupcakes are so me!!) and a postcard from Amsterdam. Thought I'd post this up because they're too pretty to not share! The joy of receiving snail mail beats the heck out of receiving parcels from online shopping. (:

Apparently I have one more arriving on Tuesday.. Can't wait to open the envelope and see what's inside!

More snail mail! They never fail to make me smile. How come there aren't cute cards like these in Singapore?? This one came with a very special US bill lol.

It's annoying when people spell my name as Pui Yee instead of Pui Ee. Library woman spelt my name as Pui Yee even though I wrote Pui Ee clearly (in neat block letters) on the registration slip. My parents didn't make a mistake in my birth cert and neither was there an error in my matriculation card ok! Grr.

The batteries on my air conditioner's remote control are flat. And I sadly do not have any extra batteries. Why doesn't it ever rain when I need it to? Why does it only rain when I have to go to class/come back from class/go out to eat/just finished washing my clothes/etc.???

Some of my friends who are studying in UK are back for Easter. I would love to go back and catch up with you guys but it's too near the finals now. Eat more roti canai, banana leaf rice, dim sum, bak kut teh and drink more teh tarik on my behalf. :(

Random picture to put some colours on this page again. It's the Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. They've got amazing good stuff there! After my first time there with Faith, then I understood why Amanda told me she put on the pounds while working there hahaha.

I have this strange addiction to coffee where I have to drink it every night. It doesn't matter if I've already had my dose of caffeine in the morning. The only one time this semester that I didn't drink it at night was last Saturday; only because I already had a latte in the morning and then another cup of coffee in the afternoon so I thought I had better keep my maximum caffeine intake at 2 cups a day.

But once I'm at home, I subconsciously freeze all consumption of coffee! Except when I'm at Starbucks catching up with friends or something. But you know.. Coffee doesn't actually make me more awake. In fact, I can still sleep after drinking coffee! Mmm. Now I'm kinda craving cake with coffee. Darn.

Ok. So I'm really just writing here to keep myself sane from looking at academic stuff everyday.

Looking forward to my vacation after my internship is done! Very very very excited! :D :D :D
